I read lots of books....
How many? Well, I don't really know, a good guess would be 100-200 a year. Last time I counted, (about 5 years ago) I owned close to 2000 books, I would assume I have over 2500 by now. Recently I have started making bookshelves to hold my library as I have many books I haven't read and can't find. My collection covers many different genre's including Science Fiction, Fantasy, Non-Fiction, History, Old Text books, Classics, Philosophy, Horror, and 'Men's Adventure'.
Below I've listed several of my favorite authors with hyper-linked pages for the ones that I've found (when I've bothered to look).
- Robert A. Heinlein (1907-1988)
The Grandfather of modern science fiction, I have every book written by him, his books project a strong moral philosophy that I find very seductive. My favorites include Time Enough for love, The Number of the Beast, Starman Jones, and Farmer in the Sky
- Isaac Asimov (1920-1992)
On of the most prolific writers of our time, I own probably a third of his 500 plus books which cover everything from hardcore science fiction to the bible. My favorites are The Foundation Series, and any of his science essays.
- The Destroyer Series
Pulp fiction. Remo Williams and his mentor, Chiun, using the "sun-source" of martial arts, Sinanju combat the enemies of the USA. Why do I like these books? I don't know, but I do. Nothing high-brow here, but enjoyable. I own around 70 of the 103 books so far and I'm looking for more all the time.
- Piers Anthony
I have most of his books (around 50). I find his style very easy to read. He writes some science fiction and horror, but mostly fantasy. My favorites are The Xanth Series, Firefly, and Battle Circle
